Tax season is now over. It was challenging and long, but you should be proud-- it was a big win.
Now it is time to get focused on the road and journey ahead.
Like a professional team that has played a game, they assess what went well and what needs to be improved.
I invite you to do the same with your team (or even with yourself).
Schedule a meeting. Start with your wins and successes and share three of them per person. Then, talk about the areas of improvement and turn them into opportunities (it’s all about your mindset)!
Here are three things you also want to make sure you avoid:
1. Settling for mediocrity. Never settle for the minimum.
2. “Same as Last Year” (SALY). You don’t want the next tax season to be anything like this one. You want to improve.
3. Getting stuck in your comfort zone. Your position as CEO is to make sure you’re always looking forward. Get out of your comfort zone to approach problems objectively and not defensively.
The glass is half full, but it’s up to you to continue filling it up!
